Which years of U.S. paper currency are more sought out even in circulated condition? I'd like to know what I can spend at a store and what I should bring to a show to get rid of. 5s - 1977 1981A 1988 1988A 1993 1995 10s - 1974 1977 1977A 1981 1988A 1990 1993 1995 20s - 1974 1977 1981 1981A 1985 1988A 1990 1993 1995 100 - 1974
The better modern series for $5 FRNs are 1969B, 1981A and 1988, but even these only have value in uncirculated condition save for a few scarcer star districts. There a few FW and DC varieties from 1988A and on that have premiums in higher circulated grades such as EF and AU. Pretty much any circulated note from the $5 series you have listed are spenders.
None of the ones listed are stars unfortunately. What about the larger denomination bills? Are all the years listed spendable?
Really depends on condition and fed district there. Of particular value would be any 1993 $5's from Minneapolis.
Well if this makes a difference 5s - B,G,F,K,L 10s - A,B,C,D,E,G,H,I,J,K 20s - A,B,D,E,F,G,H,J,K,L 100s - G
Only makes a difference when the letter is associated with the series and the condition of the note is known. In some cases there serial number block can also effect the value.
