My son comes home from Sonic, and I see a bright shinny penny. Sure enough, it is a 2009. I snatch it from him (he then says "You're weird!"), and I grab 6 rolls of pennys and go to Sonic. I explain that I would be willing to trade my pennys for the new ones and they reply that they don't have any rolls, but just had a couple from change. He then says, but you can have this and gives it to me.

    Anyone know much about it:

    Metal composition:
steel core covered with nickel.Diameter:18.5 mm.Weight:2.9 g.Obverse:the centre of the coin features the denomination numeral and currency name "20 LIPA" against the background showing a stylised blooming linden branch. The inscription "REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA" is displayed in the upper semi-circle along the edge of the coin. Displayed centrally along the lower edge is the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia, bordered on its left and right sides by the Croatian wattle.Reverse:the centre of the coin features a stylised olive branch with olives. The inscription "MASLINA" (lat. OLEA EUROPAEA) is displayed semi-circularly along the left edge of the coin. The year of mintage (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) is displayed centrally along the lower edge.

I found the above....worth about $1 from what i could gather from Google. Not bad for just asking about pennys....

That is quite interesting about circulation coins from Croatia - each denomination comes in two types. In the "odd "years (2001, 2003, 2005 ...) they use the Croatian name of the plant or animal depicted; in the "even" years (2002, 2004 ...) the names are in Latin.
