Just wanted to see how many people were going to the 2nd stage of new Lincoln next week in Lincoln City Indiana in Lincoln State Park there...

Even though you can only get 6 rolls for face value per person should be a fun time expecting over 3000 people and they guarentee not to run out of coins if everyone gets 6 rolls..

    Thats 18,000 rolls of pennies

Thats 900,000 individual pennies at the event... WOW

Rumor has it Brinks Trucks will be heavily armed around them.

Armored cars are heavily armed regardless of the cargo.

I thought about it, considered it a plus for its fun aspect, but it's a good drive away, and held in the middle of the week. Why isn't this held on a Saturday?

At any rate, I'll eventually get some.

I would love to go but will have to rely on Ebay for my next two coins in the collection LOL

Imagine, people driving all that way (and I have a friend from Indiana who tells me that to say "it's in the middle of nowhere" is an understatement!) . . . to get a max of $3 of cents! (Can anyone possibly explain the US Mint limit on this?)

I'll be at* the US Mint store in DC, where they will also give for exchange only up to 6 rolls -- but only P-mint. (Again, why?)

Anyone coming to DC to get their rolls?

(* and after that, going to the Mint kiosk in Union station, to see if I can get another six)

FWIW, presuming I get them, I'll be looking to trade, straight up, some of the P rolls for D rolls.

I called PCGS to see if they were going to do FDI designation and what the requirements were. She wasn't sure--said she'd call me back (of course I'll respect you in the morning)--but said for the Early Childhood cents they had to be sent in Mint boxes of 50 rolls. Let's see, 2500 less 300, I would only be 2200 short ... two days' driving there and back, hotel for Grandpa to rest up, loss of two days of paying work ... count me out.

More than that, my understanding is a limit of 6 rolls per person (even at the Indiana event). I don't know where anyone's going to get a box of these rolls.
