Is it worth the effort and expense to buy red Lincoln cents?

If PGCS buys back a coin from someone how do they dispose (sell it) since I understand they are not in the selling business?

NGC has always had the same guarantee and has always stood behind it 100%. The one difference has to do with copper, it has only been the last few years that the guarantee has covered copper at all. And the guarantee on copper is limited to 10 years. All other coins are covered forever and always have been.

After they have downgraded and reslabbed the coins they can always hold them to use for other replacements. Or they can have David Hall sell the coins in their new, downgraded slabs.

I was shocked yesterday. I have a wonderful MS66 RED PCGS graded 1936 cent. I wish I knew how to properly post a scan picture here. To make a long story short , I decided to see what one of my local dealers offered on this. While it is by no means rare or scarce, it is a nice eye appealing specimen. The dealer offering was $6.00......go figure.

Dumb question but why would I turn my own coin in for downgrading? If someone is worried about an overgraded coin for sale they could simply state the grade they thought it was in the advertisement.

If the coin is downgraded, you may be able to recoup a % of the difference between the grades, depending upon the guarantees of NGC or PCGS as GD stated. NGC is easier to work that out with than PCGS.
