My best friend asked me to pick up his 15 year old son and take him home a few days ago when he couldn't make it and on the way home, this boy tells me that he found the 50th state quarter to complete his collection. He said that he was the only one to do it out of his family's five children. I told him I was a coin collector and we talked a little bit about it. He then asked me if there was really such thing as a steel penny. I told him yes as we got to his home. Last night, we visited the home and I called the 15year old down. I told him that since he showed an interest, I gave him a nice 43 D. His eyes lit up. I know it is not as much as many of you have done, but I thought it was cool to see him get so excited. If he shows more interest, I'll give him a few other items perhaps.....

It does not matter the amount that is given, only the amount that is received. You could not have given a better gift, great job!
Very nice. When I was young, my dad gave me a 1943 steel cent and that's what got me hooked on coin collecting. You may have just done the same thing for that 15 year old. :thumb:
