I paid $950 for this last year, what do you think it is worth today?

well very carefully put it back in and if i were u i would send it to ngc or pcgs to get it graded it looks nice to me but i think his hair on the forehead is a little soft and a lil concerning is that line that goes really close to the S how did that happen?

I agree with spock, get it in an airtite , and for your protection consider getting it slabbed.

I'm not an expert with Lincolns...so I might be a bit off here. But, when I look at this coin, I see some wear on the cheek and jaw. I would call this coin AU but I'm not sure on the AU number because it's hard to tell from the pictures. It's certainly a nice coin and it looks like there is luster and a nice RB color. If I was going to put a number on it...I'd probably say AU50RB. I don't know what the current price trend for these is however.

As far as storage. If you want to keep the coin raw, I would recommend putting it in an intercept shield holder. They are the best for preventing oxidation of the coin's surface and they are a very nice quality holder.

Yeah that is one to definitely get graded. I'd say value wise just from looking at it probably somewhere in the range of $1450-1500 is like what its worth. That would be in the range of AU50-58.

Yeah Nice coin. Get it slabbed. You will then have a firm grade and know exactly what it is worth.

I think you did very well. Regardless of if it was cleaned or not it has nice eye appeal and you could sell on eBay for a lot more. Give us more photos up close with digital macros setting on the "S" mint mark to be sure it's not fake. There are parallel serifs (raised lines) and a dot between the S on real S VDB's. I agree get it graded.

I don't think I am seeing any wear. But I would guess that the coin has been cleaned. That may will be why you got it so cheap. I would still get it certified. If it has been cleaned, it is worth $1000 - $1200.

Hey you guys- my S VDB came back EF 40 cleaned. You know my famous contaminated dellar's experiment in total stupidity. I am tempted to crack out and put in my album or sell raw. I don't like it in its Genuine NCS slab. They did improve it very slightly. I should start a post, but just wondering from RLM, AJ, etc.

I wouldn't slab it if the OP didn't want to though. Some people (many here) prefer raw coins to slabbed. I plan on getting an SVDB down the road and I'll get one already slabbed, but some people like their coins raw. There is nothing wrong with that.

Coins that are counterfeited that often, I would recommend only buying slabbed coins (or becoming an expert at counterfeit detection).

If genuine ( cannot even guess from pics ), I would grade that coin $1750, and to see it in a PCGS 63RB slab would be about right.

That coin needs to go in to get authenticated just as a matter of that, even if to just crack when it gets back.

I do hope for you that it is real, but send it in.

EDIT: retrack my opinion based on a guess
