Yeah, don't hop on it now. people will be left behind. Don't be the last one out. The common man will be the man hurt the most playing this game. If you're going to do this, you better be all over twitter, facebook, Instagram, reddit, 4chan, and more to find the right stocks before everyone else hops on them. More likely, you buy a stock you see on twitter but it doesn't catch on at all and you end up with a loss. They want you to buy at these high prices. It means these redditors who decided to flood gamestop come out on top, while you end up with a minimal gain. TL;DR: don't. One month ago dogecoin was less than 0.007 USD. Now it is about 30 cents. Also, the stock market isn't the lottery, it's a valuation of a company. not really the purpose of the stock market, even though I love seeing these guys get screwed collectively by the masses. They will just get bailed out anyway. They don't care for the common man.
All I know is it's up over 450% in the last 24 hours. Interesting. Really interesting. And weird. Fortunes being made and lost in hours these days.
12/31/20, it was at 0.0046, today we are just under 4 cents. Sorry, I missed the decimal. Sorry everything else in my post should still apply though
Tried to buy it for .017 then realized I don't have a platform to buy it. Spent hours and couldn't get an exchange to work. You could've bought it on robinhood (I'm daytrade banned but they halted all purchases of it and even went as far as not clearing funds for coins sold for many people. Very sketch
When fax machine were popular there were fax's sent out telling you the next hot stock, hoping I guess people paid attention the the fax and went out and bought it. This is how I see what's going on with these reddit or whatever... whatever you want to call it that's currently going on with cerain stocks. As far as dogecoin it was a joke at the start but it's a real Internet currency thing only it's worth thousandths of a cent normally per unit. People are pushing it, and it's gone to like 3 cents per unit now. My opinion. It's nonsense.the supply is 135 billion and it has no hard cap so it's inflationary, where other crypto currencies have hard caps. Mining as I've read takes about 1 minute for 10,000 dogecoin. So the supply can go on forever unless they stop it or introduce a hard cap. The creator wants there to be easy rewards to keep people mining for them I guess capitalizing on the hype of other cryptos. All time high on it was like .17 cents a unit. All time low on it was like .000087 cents a unit. It's about .03 cents a unit and creating a buzz, no idea why besides Internet hype.
Like with most things traded for profit.... if you are just now noticing it, then you are probably too late.
By the way, the whole concept of dogecoin was created as a complete joke. Basically a way that people on some online forums (reddit, twiter, etc) could give "likes" to others. Just like we do here. Instead of likes, lets call them "cointokens". Well after some time, a real dollar amount became attached them. Fractions of penny. And now, they have magically become worth several pennies. Because some people believe they are worth 3 cents each.
On a whim several months back I purchased dogecoin. When I checked my account yesterday morning I was shocked at the price, so immediately sold. Looks like I will be feeding my numismatic pursuits more than I had expected.
Good choice. Everyone on social media is pushing to hold, hoping they can screw over the less experienced investors.
Lots of chatter that money will flow into crypto, which trades 24/7, after the markets close for the weekend. I guess we shall see.
