They are being hoarded. I am not sure you'll see these in pocket change much. Just my humble thoughts

One thing you can bet on, as soon as a coin is minted it will show up on ebay as an error. Many times the error is only in mind of the seller. I am not sure of errors for the 09 Lincolns, there is Varieties in that "Trail Dies" have been found for both the P and D issues. See BJ Neffs site. http://traildies.com/index.html

Are "trail dies" anything like "trial dies"?

Who knows we've only seen a handful so far.

Who knows we've only seen a handful so far. With the amount that have been circulated it's very early yet to have found anything much - the way I see things only about 1 10Th of the mintage if that has been released and yes they will soon be everywhere - I will not pay any premium for them either - they were made for me and every American to help support our commerce!!!!!!!
This new cent is one of the strangest things the mint has ever done that I remember as far as how it was released and sold. It's almost like an afterthought the mint had to sell the rolls - I heard nothing about it last year and no one else did either - the mint, our mint should be ashamed!!!!

I did not say anything about a boycott are nuts?

I did not say anything or imply anything about a boycott are nuts? I said I was ashamed - I give my opinions on here based on 20 years of being a coin collector and dealer and running a monthly coin show - I see more coins in one month than most people do in 5 years. I said it was strange thing they did with these new cents and it is - it is being discussed all over the country, articles have been in every paper regarding the "new Cent" and it's failure to be put into circulation coupled with strange afterthoughts of offering rolls sets at that kind of premium.
I don't mind if you disagree with me but don't you ever say or imply something I didn't say or tell me to boycott anything - who and what I boycott or don't boycott is none of your business!

My theory for not finding 2009's is due to the economy right now. Lots of people unemployed or underemployed and they have cashed in their pennies in record numbers. The banks only order change when they need it and they haven't needed any for a while now. So, the 2009's sit at the feds. I'm like Bill, I refuse to buy a penny for 50 cents or a dollar when it will eventually be pocket change. Everything in it's time.

I have ONE. It came from the Denver Mint and is packaged with a blank planchet. I have found NONE in circulation but a member of my coin club said he got one in change last month.

I got one in change. Don't know if I got it in Tucson AZ. or on the way home to N. Ca. It's a Denver mint.

Bank Of America in North Phoenix. I guess I was the second person to ask about them and took what was left of the box.

I find them in pocket change very often when I buy stuff from CVS. CVS seems to have quite a bit of new money whatever denomination it may be. I live in Southern California and I have probably found like 10 or so in pocket change. Banks like B of A seemed to have them also when I asked for them a couple weeks ago.
