Just started collecting bills and here are the stars I've found. For some reason, I can not scan the $10 bill with 6 - 5's in the serail number.[
if the $10 is a 2004 series - then good luck The US started putting 'things' in the paper that makes then hard to scan. Some scanners will scan them, most wont. stoopid US decision makers
Yes it is a 2004A, and beleive it is the bill and my scanner not working together to allow the print. Technology is advanced so to keep the bad guy from counterfiting. Thanks for your input.
not exactly. Its more like the technology is meant to prevent the good guys (thats folks ike you and me) from making not so innocent mistakes. Like they dont want a smartalec teenager, scanning a $20 for use at a burger king. Trust me in that the 'bad guys', the folks doing the counterfeiting, are NOT using cheap $100 scanners. something more along the lines of engraved printing plates.
There are ways around this, but you need the right software. May I ask why you are using the gray scale instead of color images? Rick
maybe, maybe not. My scanner has the software built into the scanner that blocks the scanning of some notes. the Adobe Indesign trick will not work. Neither will GIMP, photoshop, Paint or any attempts at using a twain driver as opposed to the scanner driver. It is possible some other scanners are not quite as touchy. I know there has been talk about some older scanners doing the scanning wihout a problem. My walk through Best Buy and test scanning a couplr problem notes yeilded some interesting results to which scanners would or would not scan
