http://www.parkquarters.com/tag/hr6184 I don't believe this.. it looks like the Lame Duck congress passed this piece of junk. I was actually looking forward to turning over a 2010 quarter and seeing a new eagle..... possibly even one from this years eagle comemeratives. The States and Territories are enough..... lets leave the quarter alone.. let us NOT have the Mint, at the order of congress, turn the coin collecting field into what happened with the stamps. I don't suppose there is any hope of George bush being so uninterested he won't sign it.
I disagree...I think the national parks don't get enough attention. I'm tired of quarters getting messed around with though. Maybe a nice half dollar design, something bigger. Next thing you know they'll have advertising on the reverse design to "supliment" minting cost. How much is the Proof 70 Taco Bell quarter worth in Red Book??? JK....maybe
gak, how about enough with the circulating "commemoratives" it was a great idea to start with but made for a poor translation onto the coins.
I'm with ya. America's national parks are absolutely marvelous. In spite of the whiners and complainers, we have done a terrific job preserving their treasures.
The parks are great, but do we really need eleven to twenty two years of quarters commemorating them? I realize it's too late now but maybe we can still head off the second eleven year run.
