    Hi all,

I am looking for some thoughts on this 1920 P Lincoln Cent. Looking for comments on the rim on the obverse as well as what you can tell from the photo. The coin is a nice red. There are several areas of raised real little bumps/flecks. Hard to see from picture. The coin does not exhibit a smooth surface like other UNC type coins.

On the reverse, the "P" in "Pluribus" is a little mushy but not quite as mushy as shown.

Very nice coin. The obverse rim is unusualy thick, unless it's your croping. Need more up close photos re: the P.

He has a larger version of the pic right there, but it does not help me much. Not concerned about the "P", but that rim is weird. The only thin I can think of is post mint,

    WOW
This could be a pressure test on the minting press or a thick planchet. I have no experience to speak from, but the obverse rim is odd. Let the error folks chime in.

Very nice coin, the obverse rim is unusual, the coin needs to be weighed to see if it exceeds 3.11 g.

I weighs 3.05 g. What is the typical tolerance for that period? I have a roll of BU 1957 wheat cents that just for grins I weighed a bunch of them. There was quite a range. From 2.88 to 3.2 g.

IMHO, the wide rim is a due to a Collar adjustment problem! Maybe Mike will come along and lend his expertise.

These are normal - we see many late teens and twenties with heavy strikes, wide rims and pushed in planchets - it's not out of the norm IMO.
