the picture are not as well as they should be. but the 1 & 9 show doubling a fair amount with a 10X lop I just wish I could draw! I going to try to post a better picture
Wow, it comes with a doubled mint mark, too, that's one heck of a nice trick! Or it could just be strike-doubling.
I really don't see alot of doubling going on there. If there is it is machine doubling. Nice coin but not much doubling IMHO.
I have no clue what JC is talking about. There is no doubling at all on the coin, it is completely normal. I have seen a number of times here where JC says "deterioration doubling" on an EDS or MDS die. Did you know you cannot have deterioration doubling on a die that hasn't deteriorated? Do you even know what die deterioration doubling LOOKS LIKE?
Look a little harder and you will see machine doubling on this coin. DO YOU? And now that i see the pic better it;s not DDD it;s MD and your comments don't make any sense to me coppercoins. certifiable unstable JC
Jello, if there are any doubts, that doubled mint mark is the telltale sign that's strike doubling, as it was punched-in after the die. It's still a heck of a find, though, a beauty!
A slight veer but still on topic. COOP, I don't say this to you enough....Your photos and the way you lay them out are just FANTASTIC!! I always look forward to seeing your educational pictures. Thanks, Bill
I'm getting very close to 1,000 images on my host and I'm still adding them when I see something I don't have yet. Thanks. I do it for the love of the hobby to educate.
