We got the perfect thing from the USPS for a day like today, 10,000 cents! For reference, there was no snow on my lawn Thursday night. I also posted a shot of the first 'gem' to come out of the wheat bag :hammer:
My wife reached into the bag and this was the first coin she pulled out, it has more verdigris than I have ever seen on one coin, I hope this isn't an omen of the whole bag. About 30 minutes before the USPS woman arrived it took a front end loader and a dump truck to clear our cul-de-sac. I doubt she would have even made an attempt otherwise. I was all comfy in shorts and a t-shirt when she arrived and told me I had to go out and get the boxes because they were heavy! I threw on my Sorel's and waded out to get them.
Hey schatzy, do you want more pics of the snow, the verdigris, the coins, or the bad azz 97 Mustang I'm hoping to find enough coins in 10,000 worth enough to pay for my new engine and supercharger Three MS64 1909 S VDBs ought to do it
It will probably take some time, my wife will search the wheats and I will search the Memorials. I haven't even searched through the 600 wheats I have, let a lone 5,000 coins!
How about the ugly truck with the white topper!! J/K I want to see your finds. I have been buying wheats for over 2 years and I have over 10,000 of them now. My eyes start to hurt after going thru about 200 of them. I look for errors so it takes more time then just looking at the dates.
You can't possibly tell how ugly my truck is from that pic :goofer: My wife would love to have that "thing" out of the driveway, but I refuse to give it up, it will go anywhere and has never gotten stuck. Of course, she likes it when we go camping! So far nothing good, in fact I haven't seen anything but 40's and 50's. She was trying to sort them by year and mint mark right off the bat. So I told her to sort by decade first, then sort each decade by year, then each year by mint mark. The only ones I look at on my initial sort are the teens and 20's and anything with an S mint mark. Is this the way you guys do it? We are going to to be looking for varieties and errors mostly, I'm doubtful we will find any key dates.
