I am probalbly the least experienced person to be commenting, but I think a high AU grade might be probable. I see something wierd around the US on the reverse and some spotting issues on the rim, which from what I have read seem to be normal, the obverse looks okay. AU 58 I might be WAYYYYY OFFFFF! Let me know guys
I could never work around money now that I know something little about coins. I would look at everything. It does look good for a 77'
i know what you mean... i have to open two registers and i stare at every coin... it takes me longer than it should .... plus i dont want to looking like im stealing... even if it is just a few pennies
Nice coin! I agree with Chris's grade...here's why... Obverse: nice strike, nice even copper color, but dinged edge, speckled particles in field, and appears some dings on portrait. Reverse: nice strike and even color, good rim, except for 1 ding. The major downfall for the obverse is the wear on the motto (E is virtually gone), inscription, and part of the field in the same area, a minor scratch or two in the lower field, very light carbon deposits along the lower right rim (under NT and FG)...I'd say AU58. VERY nice score from circulation! -LTB
What is going on with St in States and E in E Pluribus Unum? I have to admit for getting it in change it looks really nice.
I agree that's a nice find for a 77' from circulation. It almost looks like its pitted, I'm not very familiar with lincolns, would that be common this year? Or could it be post-mint.
