Very Nice spcimen. If not for the margins, this would grade a Gem Unc. I give it a Choice Unc grade. Thanks for sharing.

Another reason why I'm not a fan of grading services. This note seems to be obviously undergraded, but the mistakes can just as easily be made in the other direction as well so who's to say that a 69 really isn't a 68 or 67. Not sure most of us (or even any of us) would be able to detect a 1 grade mistake in grading and if you can, then what's the point in paying for someone elses opinion to begin with....

This is why I don't buy the ultra high graded coins. Like I said, I don't have any graded notes...but with coins, I feel that the difference in those supreme high grades is so minimal and so subjective that it's not worth the huge premiums.

RickieB, who is the tougher grader PMG or PCGS, who is more respected, and finally, who do you prefer and why? Trying to learn something, and also nosy! You seem to know your stuff.

Why is your grading too specific? I would just say almost uncirculated here in Australia.

finally i also have something that rickie has. Please make sure before you cut and resubmit that it does not have a wind fold anywhere that might have made it a 55 otherwise it looks unc . best of luck

It would not surprise me if that note has the slightest, hidden remnant of a center bend, a mark which frequently gets these otherwise CU notes AU grades.

BTW- It is always easier to grade a $5 note by the back...

Yes..I thought this might be the case as well..it was put beneath a nice Nikon Microscope with power from 50 up to 100x and projected onto a a very nice monitor..nothing was there at all...not even a hint of a fold, bend wave ..nothing!!

I have access to many labs in research facilities with top notch equipment...
    Trust me on this one...
