I went out twice over the weekend about an hour each day and ended up with two dollars and two cents in change. I also found a big botton and......... suspence building................my first diamond ring.............to bad it came out of a gumball machine. I did have three interesting finds. I found two wheat cents, one 1950 something but the best was a 1920 S. :thumb: The most interesting find was a plastic Easter egg half that was about 2 inches under ground. The reason I was able to detect it was that it contained a Nevada state quarter. I thought it was cool to find a buried egg on Easter weekend. :thumb:
Thats awesome! I'm interested in metal detecting but dont know where to start, mainly what sort of detector to look for.
I'll leave a detector choice to someone with more experience I just have a cheap bounty hunter. Although I have hear the Garret treasure ace 250 is a good one for the money. I wish I had taken a pic of the egg I brought up but didn't think to carry a camera. That and there was two kids following and wathcing me so I just grabbed the quarter and moved on.
CoinKeeper: Try asking for advice at FMDAC.org Good luck, and yes, the Garrett 250 is an excellent machine. Nice finds, Viper
I use the Bounty Hunter SharpShooter II. It's also a great detector and definitely not the most expensive. Great finds viper!
I have been suprised by how well my detector does if I actually believe what it's telling me. Now if I could hunt down some silver.
