Hello all First off, I have no idea if these are worth anything at all. I know very little about collecting coins, but I've got these few coins lying around, and I decided to learn a little about how much they may be worth, so I thought a community like this might be a great place to find some educated opinions. Here's a picture of all of them together. Really large image, I know, but I figured the larger, the easier to inspect. If anyone knows a general value of these, I'd greatly appreciate it.
the note is in very weak shape, and only worth a couple bucks at best. the coin values i will leave to a beter coin grader
For the coins, the Ike dollar is graded by a company called ANACS and they have a reputation for being a pretty good grading company. So, you can bet that Ike is graded pretty accurate. That being said, 1973-S proofs aren't overly valuable and I'd say that coin is worth a few dollars. The proof cent isn't graded by a company that has a good reputation. But, it is a proof cent. It doesn't look damaged, so I'd say it's probably worth a dollar or so. The half dollar is graded by SGS which is a company known to not grade accurately. That is not a proof coin, it's a normal circulation strike, this it is only worth a premium if it's in very nice shape. From what I have seen of SGS, coins like this that are graded MS70 are usually somewhere in the AU50 range. I can't tell for sure from the photo, but it is likely that coin is only worth face value.
It was graded by ANACS not PCGS and you are right, the coin is not a Cameo! I would say that the coins came from a Coin Dealer that deals in problem slabs (i.e. returns to a TPG due to problems in grade, attribution or something else for a refund under their' Guarantee) or (coins slabbed by a TPG that is either not recognized by the coin collecting community or not considered reliable in their grading). These type of slabs sell at 3 for $10 each and sometimes even less. I have picked up some very good deals (Cherrypicked some tough Varieties) from Coin Dealers that deal in problem slabs but you have to know what you are doing! Frank P.S. It could just be the picture too. I don't think I have ever seen a 1973 proof that wasn't cameo...but I'm sure some are out there. But, it seems like the proofs from about 1970 and newer tend to almost always be cameo.
