  1. Think I've posted one before but for some reason this pops up on a list of Collectible Years and goes for in some Conditions upwards of 300$ so I imagine it can't be that easy ..Anyway here's some images in poor lighting , Let me know what ya think below Screenshot_20210126-161734_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20210126-162534_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20210126-162343_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20210126-162429_Photos.jpg

  6. Is the doubling showing up on both sides of the coin or just the one side? NOT obverse and reverse but anywhere else on the front.
Can you send a better pic straight on? If you can.

  9. What were the Doubling or Error on the PCGS done with ? Is Mechanical Doubling the same as Hub Doubling ?
What's the difference between them ?

Looks like copper plate doubling with a deteriorated die. Jim

Not at all.. Mechanical doubling happens during the striking of the coin.

Hub doubling occurs when the hub is created. Hence Doubled Die.

  18. @paddyman98 Sorry, hope I didn't offend. Tongue in cheek.........

@AdamKilledAbel Now, I don't know if this will help or not but there is a 1983 P cent that has a DDR. There are actually three years in a row that have DDR's. 1982, 1983,1984.
The one is doubled in all the letters and building. Since your pix are pretty slim pickings I am unable to check against any marks to verify. So head to here variteyvista and look up (see below)

    1983 DDR-001
    1-R-IV
    FS-801 (036)

Its always up to you to do the work if you want it done right

A True Doubled Die falls under the Variety Category not the Error category. Just because it looks like the known Doubled Die does not mean that it is. The original Cent is clearly Die Deterioration doubling not a Doubled Die. So it is worthless doubling. It is not the example you shared.
