I just reviewed my saved emails from the mint and I have almost a dozen of them each telling me different dates for my "back order". I Know of no private enterprise that does this. They give me a date on which to expect my product and shortly before that dates arrives they push it back, they do this repeatedly. This is not just for one product but several products. The mint has become a completely unprofessional operation. They charge huge premiums for their products and provide substandard service.
thats better than saying dont call us dont talk to us and ur product will come anytime after 18 months and yes there will be no returns defective or not.
I will tell you if the products arrive. If they don't then I'd have to say that the mint have ceased to function as a legit entity.
dont worry at least u can get ur charges reversed i cant and i cant even call it an illegitimate entity
I bought some stuff on 3/13 and it said in stock and reserved the very first day and the mint has still not shipped the coins. These coins were never backordered!! This is the worst service I have ever seen!!
Yeah, I've had an order that has read "in stock and reserved" for the last two weeks. I feel your pain Dan.....
Don't buy from them. Their a government agency. You don't like them, don't spend money on them. Go to ebay and pay the premiums. And FWIW, I'm still waiting for the Perth Mint for an order from months ago. Ruben
when people get the moon they want the stars ..... FWIW a lot of you may not know but the us mint even with the delays is the best mint in the world as far as time to ship is concerned and the value of the goods provided
That's a good idea, but the problem is then dealers and eBayers would just buy a thousand of them a piece to make up the difference in the market, the Mint would still make its money, the dealers and eBayers would make their money, and we'd get stuck with the bill yet again. Now here's a plan: start your own mint! lol
I currently have two things back ordered with them. I must say that I know that I'll eventually get them and they don't bill my account until it ships. Thus, it is kind of like Christmas. You can see the presents, probably know what you're getting, but can't quite get your hands on them yet. Give the mint a break. They are trying to get us out of a nasty crisis, one new coin at a time.
...........the solution to all the misery is a bailout! ...........the bailout is the firing of all the inept employees at the mint replaced with someone with common cents (pun intended) and know-how of running a business!!
They a have a monopoly. Further, because they are a gov't agency I have a right to expect a better level of service. I just may write my congress person on this.
Sorry you're having a difficult time with 'em, Dan. FWIW, I've gotten consistently excellent service and coins form the United States Mint. Hang in there, bro. You'll score. :thumb:
I think it may be more interesting to contact your State Attorney General's consumer rights' division.
It has happened to me too Dan. Still waiting on my Braille coins.. I guess in time they will come.. Almost thinking about going to other vendors for my coins from now.
Being the best of the worst doesn't inspire warm fuzzy feelings in me. I got hosed over 10 years ago on my last mint order and when I made an order last month I was reminded why I said I would not buy anything from the mint again. Too bad I didn't take my own advice.
