Were it not for these “senseless” leaders we wouldn’t have this country. Personally I like the idea we credit them on the coin and currency that make the economy of this country they gave us run.

The convenience of plastic only adds directly/indirectly to the cost of the items purchased. Do you think using plastic comes without any charge to the merchant, who in turn passes that expense in one form or another on to the consumer??? It's most notable having a direct impact when you look at the bullion sellers for example, there is a "wire transfer price" and a "credit card price."

But factor in the savings from having to deal in less coin and cash and it’s a wash.

So true, and that's why many merchants are more than happy to give you a discount when spending CASH.

I thought that’s because they can skim it off the books easier. ;)

I would suggest putting the US flag on the $20 bill, but I’d risk offending someone with my political incorrectness.

Based on what I've read over the years, the dollar coin has never been popular in circulation for quite a few reasons, perhaps the main factor that it was too big and heavy. The SBA was too confusing size-wise, ergo all other newer attempts. The half dollar was never really accepted for circulation because of its size and weight. It is best the way the U.S. Mint is handling both half dollar and dollar types for collectors only. I do like the way the Sacagawea reverse is updated each year.

How about presidential first dogs? Or would a cat get offended (not that you can tell anyway)?

How do you skim a wire transfer off the books?

You misunderstand. I’m referencing your discount for cash in my comment.

I can understand most of what you are saying, but, not being a member of any commonly recognized minority, I hesitate to speak for any of them. I'm sure Jackie Robinson didn't appreciate being a token.

American Express, Visa and MasterCard do not make their handsome profits for making their services free.

It’s all about being exploited, I suppose. In my opinion, this is more about making a political statement than about honoring her for her contributions, as there are so many others who could fill this spot, and what are they, chopped liver? Its nothing better than a cheap stunt dressed up as a tribute, is how I see it. Others can see it different, that’s their business.

If you have only digital money they know where every cent you use and what you spent it on. Then they will classify you. Your beliefs will then be at peril.
