Hey guy's....this thread is on finishing set's of notes as the Title suggest!

Today I finished the Series 1966 and 1966 A $100 Small Size Notes! (yea, a first for me)

Looking at my Large Size $2 notes (Series 1917)...all I need is the FR#59 Mule to finish it off.......:secret: :secret:
I just found one and I have placed an inquiry on the note!

So,,the feeling of finishing a set has maybe happened to me twice in a single day!!! What a thrill :D :D

What has been your experience on finishing a set??
    Let's share the excitement!!

    Regards to all...

Okay I kind of understand sets of coins but can you explain what a set of notes would be? I'm sorry for another stupid question but had to ask. LOL

Well first of all congrats and I would like to reinterate that I AM RIGHT.. You couldn't stop!!lol lol Good for you . I can't say it in notes but I have almost completed a couple of coin sets need a few key dates and that to me is very fulfilling.. I keep going along waiting to get the holes filled and along the way I pick up other interesting coins/notes.

KD...no question is Stupid..LOL the only stupid questions are the one's not asked!!

    So here goes...

In the Large Size Series 1917 $2 Notes there are the following FR#'s 57, 58,,59, and 60. Putting all these notes together will make a Series set...just like in coins....
The lowest graded note in the set is a PMG 63EPQ on the FR#59, if I am lucky enough to get it....LOL Keep your fingers crossed for me..I am waiting on the email as I type!!

    Regards,

COngrats. I'll have to look into the Fr 59 Mule for my bracelet note set. I can't even fathom being able to complete a paper set at the moment, but it is in progress. I have done the 65-08 P&D dime set from circulation. It never feels done though as I upgrade it all the time. Do you feel some relief now or is it a feeling of loss? No longer have the need to chase these down.
PS I got the book you reccomended today and opened it.:)

Great news on the book!! I love it...prices are not correct but there is a ton of information...LOL

The feeling is unusual to say the least...with my collection jumping all over the place it has been hard to focus on just 1 type or series.
There is so much more that I would like to add..but some of these notes are out of reach....for now!!

The only set I've finished is the small sized $1 US Notes (not counting star notes). :)

Congrats...I still need to find a 66A $100 for my collection...then that set will be finished too!

    Howdy dursin....

It is a rather expensive note to be honest...could have gotten a nice Large Size for the cost...but hey..whats done is done right??

Good luck on finding yours....I know where an XF is at $500.00

You are a man possessed RickieB! - but nice job.

I have "finished" a few sets in my life but it depends on definition.

I completed the 1996 $20 and $50 star note sets by plucking them out of circulation actually. It was NOT easy and would not have happened if I wasn't handling a lot of money at the time.
A few tougher notes and the LAST one I found was the NEW YORK $20 star note and it's NOT tough! Go figure. ;)

I always enjoyed the "hunt" from circulation but have completed at least one "set" via purchase. A complete set of "Barr star" notes in CU.

Only one set of coins and all business strikes. Two Cent Pieces of course. Took me years to get that set to where I want it and it could be improved but not willing to drop the money it would require.

    Again I say CONGRATS!
