Picked up a Canadian Mint set of the 1867-1967 circulating commemorative. Came complete with mint COA and envelope. Difficult to display as is. Any ideas on how to repackage and display, or should I keep in the original mint packaging?

I carry one of these Goose Dollars as a pocket piece. Have for years.

Keep them as they are! Do not take them out. They look good as a set, and the plastic will protect the coins.

Yes, I'd keep it in the packaging.....

    Check the silver dollar.
Are the Obverse and reverse both upright?
There is a variety called the diving goose, with a rotated reverse about 90 degrees.. Brings a HUGE premium!

I agree. Original mint packaging is desirable and looks attractive enough. However, if you really don't like the cellophane look you could try to find a Capital holder for the set. Just be very careful when transplanting the coins.

Keep it in the packaging :D This was the last year we minted with silver.

I did not know that. Thanks, I'll keep it like it is. I'll try to find some type of box to keep the package from being damaged.

I collect those sets you have. I got them all from 1960 to date, and in most cases I got the different varieties for each year.
Here's what I put them in...I thought it wasn't a bad deal and they fit nice, with a velcro closure on them, with the RCM embossed in gold on the front of them. I've got them packed away but I think each one holds approx 12 of them.
Order them right from the mint...through the link below.

Holey crap...you gotta be kidding. WTF would the mint knowingly sell bad product like that.
Can the PVC still leach into the coins, if the coins are in that cello material?

The mint does know, I asked them and they are the ones who told me that they do. I do not know if it can still leach into the coins.

After seeing the mint wallet, i'm thinking of using a large currency sleeve and maybe sealing the edge. Still viewable and much firmer than the thin cellopane package. Also PVC free. Just slide it in package and all, should work.

I have many Canadian sets, all packaged in this original cellophane wrapper. I never had any trouble; not a tear or a poke. The only thing that an added currency holder would provide is less visibility. Although I would have to agree that it would be much firmer but yet again , a lot less visible.

that's a nice looking 1967 set - no tarnishing, so the sleeve must still be intact. i have a few that have come apart along the edges. i keep everything in original packaging, even if the packaging has seen better days.
