Great find for one box. Please, order more and see where it goes. (i'm sure you are way ahead)

The silver halves in circulation are mostly in the hot spots. Mine yours till it's dead.

I went back on got them. Out of both boxes I got a single 71-S. That's the only keeper.

    Halves...

:eating: I found an interesting half dollar from a bank box. The entire box was 2001-D's, and this particular one has a "ring" on both sides, where it looks as if the die did not make contact. It appears to be either struck thru a ring of grease, or a die adjustment strike. This box had not been opened for years (stamped 2004, I think). All the coins were very shiny, and all were struck with a very weak "ust", of trust. On some, you cannot see the last "t" of trust at all, including the "ring" error. I was looking for a way to post a picture...can anyone help? What type of error is this? See pictures in same post under "Error Coins" forum.

Grabbed seven rolls of pennies on my way home from work today.. and found a 2000 Wide AM. First one (after about 10000 pennies searched)!

From what I have heard, the term "uncirculated" refers to the condition of a coin, not whether it has been in circulation or not. Look at any coin as described in the red or blue books for "uncirculated" condition...it doesn't say anything about circulation. A coin can be found in pocket change and still be uncirculated; another coin can be ordered directly from the mint, and still be circulated.

How obvious was it that it was a Wide AM?

Friday I picked up some boxes of halves. Finished last night.

    40- 40%ers
    2- 1964
    1- 1945 Walker
    2- Franklins 52' and 63'
    1- Bicentennial silver proof
    1- 1987s
    1- double stamp error 1994p
a nice bunch of uncirculated and very nearly uncirculated coins to boot, I save the coins without any marks for examining later to upgrade my album coins.
It's better when you have many of the same coin to chose from always!

Fairly obvious.. depending on how well your eyesight is, I suppose. I usually check them with a loupe (7x), if I have any suspicion. It's completely obvious under a loupe.

    Two boxes of halves yielded:
    2-1964's
    1-1966
    1-1967
    1-1969D
    Franklins
    1-1953D
    1-1954
    1-1951D

    1-2005P
1-1977 gold plated counter stamped coin

I collect those silly counter stamps like other people collect coins with holes drilled in them. Its a silly worthless collection but it is kind of fun. :mouth:

My total silver for the year is:

    247 - 40 percent coins 1965-1969
158 - 90 percent coins 1964 Kennedys back through Franklins and Walkers.

Just picked up two rolls and four loose halves at the bank... and scored 21 40%s. I couldn't believe it.. one ENTIRE ROLL was 40%! They have three more there that I'm.. just about to get in my car and go get.

The other three rolls didn't yield much. One of the rolls was entirely bi-centennial, mixed grades. I'm thinking that I bought someone's collection.. bittersweet.

wow what a score. I got ten rolls from a bank today close to work. It had 13 40%'s and on frankie. I was happy. The biggest surprise was a 2008 D in one roll.

I just got one box with zip (searched and marked) and another loaded to the teeth.

    A roll of 40%, 5 1964 and a Franklin.

I can do that all day.

My teller told me I can pick up another 8 boxes tomorrow.

This week will be a record with 26 boxes!

I take care of four dogs and three cats, two homes and run a business.

    Good thing I'm............
