You could have came here and made your point in a much nicer way.
I have to agree that cncman was incorrect in most of what he posted but you went over the top with all the insults.

May I ask how you cleaned this coin?

Not to get this started again, but I said the coin looked funny and asked others opinions if it was fake. What specifically was incorrect about that? How would that make "most" of what I posted incorrect? I thought it was acceptable to post questionable coins to get others opinions. Others definitively said it was fake I deferred to their opinion. I am happy to admit anything I said that was a mistake if a reasonable person shows me I was wrong. I find it odd that a person that is supposedly trying to defend their good name creates a false identity to give himself a good reference, clearly shows that they are being deceptive in their auction by not disclosing the ANACS determination of corrosion and cleaning and calls several people in here personal names. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Here is what I have learned from this thread - another crack out artist is trying to make a buck by taking a coin out of the holder and selling it raw. From the posts by the seller I know know to skip his auctions. Everyone knows that high feed back does not make a seller a good seller. Preying on the unsuspected is part of the problem a lot CT'ers have with ebay. I read your feed back over here. Call us idiots all you want - we know problem coins and sellers when we see them - all you did was confirm it.

To the OP - you want an 1877 with out the hassle check with Rick Snow and look at harlan j berk(they have several lower grade coins that are problem free).

Thats a cool tool for feedback! I always hate that ebay doesn't let you click on certain positive or negative feedback, thanks! I think when I do buy a 1877 I will buy from a show or a personal dealer I know that I can trust. I am just trying to learn to keep an eye out for fakes which is why I started this thread because something didn't look right but I wasn't good enough to say for sure, which I freely admitted several times. I didn't mean to get an obviously emotional person stirred up. My apologies to any CT member for any unpleasantness I started.

Sorry for being defensive but it makes me mad when someone that dont even buy many coins acts like im a scammer or cant make a better decision about if a seller is a scammer by looking at thier feedbacks and posts wrongful things so I keep getting messages from buyers thinking its fake. I apoligize to all exept cncman.

The 4000+ feed backs are meaningless. However, your attitude speaks volumes and it is kind of hard for any member here not to have heard it. That is great "advertisment" (usually called advertisement). Hope you enjoy it.

So what was your motivation for cracking it out? I would think you, a "coin pro" of all people, would have the sense to leave it in there if you are going to sell it. Here are 2 reasons from a non-ebay-power-seller (by the way, an excellent reason to disregard everything I say):

    1) It would fetch more money

    2) It would remove all doubt that it is fake

I would really enjoy hearing your reason, EBAYPOWERSELLER, if you think you can control yourself and give a straight answer.

Maybe the other members of CT that have been following this thread should make their presence known. I myself spend a good bit of money on my hobby. Where I spend those dollars is important to me, and to many others here I'll bet. It nothing else this thread has been informative and educational.
