Check this out. Pretty sweet toning if it's real. http://cgi.ebay.com/RAINBOW-TONED-1900-SILVER-MORGAN-DOLLAR-BU-COIN_W0QQitemZ190296931573QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item190296931573&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
WOW Just the discussion of AT/NT is suprising here. In no way at any time under any circumstances would this even be questioned. Even Ray Charles could see the coin REAKS of artificial toning.
That's what I was thinking. The blue is way too deep and there is no luster... looks like someone got to it with a crayon...
AbsoluTely PS. That toning is hideous. If one more person says that toning is attractive, I will bombard this thread with beautiful NT Morgans---I am thinking like 30 in a row. Not kidding either.
AT as can be. Doesn't (necessarily) make it any less pretty. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Totally agree. I have seen coins from this seller before. They all look the same, overdipped and messed with. I don't know if I would even call that artificial toning; it looks more like a paint job to me. I doubt there is even a semblence of luster remaining on that poor coin.
I agree that this coin is very obviously AT. ...I think it's attractive. OK Lehigh, now lets see them.
