I have a 2003 $2 bill, and I was comparing it to a 1976 $2 bill, and the 03 is a little longer and a tiny bit taller than the old one. I don't know if they put those little strips in the $2 , but if they do this one doesn't have it.

I will try and get some pix later.

Oh and 1 more question. Is my 76 $2 worth more than $2. its in pritty good shape for something thats been circulated?

The $1 and $2 notes do not have any of the new security features.

A 1976 $2 in circulated condition is probably worth $2, unless it's a star note or some such thing. Might still sell for more on Ebay if you're lucky, though.

If your 1976 $2 has seen some circulation and your 2003 $2 is new, there might well be a bit of size difference. The currency paper does shrink slightly as it wears. And it's not uncommon for the cutting to be off by a millimeter or so anyway.... Now, if one bill is half an inch larger than the other, then I would suspect that something fishy is going on.

I got $40 worth of $2's, mostly 1976, at the bank just today. They are worth $2 each when they are even slightly circulated. I buy them to spend them, and use them for tips etc.

OK thanks guys. The difference between the two bills is about 1MM hight wise and 2MM length, so it sounds like thats about right.

Man thats crazy, I never new money shrank.

Also, ever once in a while you might receive a bill that was cut from a purchased uncut sheet of bills. The best measurement is from design line to design line, and not the overall length or width of the bill.
