There is always much discussion about whether or not a coin can grade MS or PF70. I own only two such graded coins. One of which is a 2004 ASE NGC PF70 ULTRA CAMEO. I decided to see how good of a photo I could take of the surfaces of the coin. This is the results. I used my Canon Powershot SD880 IS 10 megapixel camera and two gooseneck desk lamps with flourescent bulbs. I diffused the lighting using a rubberband and papertowel.

Notice that when a proof coin is blasted with light, the photograph essentially reverses the cameo effect. The fields become white and with contrasting darker devices. I know that many do not like this style of photo for a proof coin, but I personally think it looks fantastic. Compare the photos above with my original photos below.

The surfaces of the coin are a tad washed out, but I have a feeling that even a minor imperfection would appear on the fields in the photo. It seems to eliminate many of the scratches and imperfections on the slab.

    What do you guys think?

After looking at it very closely i have to tell you that..well, first if there is no CAC sticker I'm not believing anything, but aside from that, those are almost good enough to be MS69 and PF68

Darn nice. Other than a little surface irregularity near the stars, a minor imperfection which wouldn't normally be graded in the palm of the hand and a slight blemish below the back sandal, non of which are normal grading inperfections, this coin is stellar even way blown up.

Do you have the dark ones as well?
