I just got eighty five dollars in copper pennies...What a week.....and there is more to unsearched rolls to go. Got a call from bank, another twenty nine dollars worth of Pennies...the finds are out there....I have been getting $10 a week in rolls of various coinageover the years and I finally hit the mother load... Last set contained 8 Dollars in Level 1970 S rolls.... all copper rolls are dated from the 1950's thru the mid 1970s with P D S mintmarks.....I feels great to find....especially penny for penny....
    Chat with you folks later,

Wow. That's a find. I still haven't come across one of those in a bank roll, let alone 800 of them. I still need to pick up a nice one for my Lincoln set.

    First, way to go!!!
Sounds like you have a good thing going.
Looks like that will keep you busy for a while.

    Second, lesson #1.
Although the term "penny" is often used in the US, in fact there is no such thing.
It's a leftover term from when we were a British colony.
The average person often uses "penny", but proper US numismatists don't.
The US coin is a "cent".
Just look at the back of the coin.

Your spelling and grammar are well above average.
    I congratulate you on that.

So glad to hear that fact about our monitary system. So now how do we tell the approximately 300,000,000 people in the USA that they shouldn't say PENNY? And how do we tell them not to say 5 bucks, a ten spot, 2 bits, saw buck, 1 dollar bill, etc. Gee, why ain't they all doing stuff right?
And those are some fantastic PENNY finds. My banks wouldn't even sell people change any more unless you have a buisness that requires PENNIES.

Could you imagine the cost of having all those slabbed by PCGS?
Even to put each one in a 2x2 would be really expensive.
Thinking about selling on ebay and making enough to retire?

Since it seems to **** some people off so much, I'm planning on using penny from this point forward. After all, it rhymes with one of my favorite songs with a female name, which includes the telephone number 867-5309.

I always go to the bank and get tons of pennies to sort threw. Normally find some pretty good stuff!

Hate to beat a dead horse J.C. but I'm looking at ten bank rolls of cents and on the wrapper is printed Pennies 6 times each... :goofer:

    :D Congrats on your jackpot!

Numismatically, the correct term is cent, however....the best argument I've heard yet is "The demonination is one cent, but the name is penny. It even says so on the boxes and wrappers". No matter what, the accepted common term is penny and that will never change. Go to any bank and ask a teller for a box of "cents" and they will look at you weird...believe me, I do it everytime. After the odd look, they always say "oh, a box of pennies". LOLOLOLOLOL

And it's hard to get the T in there when you say cents.

My mom and dad have gone to the same bank for over 20 years with the same tellers. My brother has a deal with one of them to throw all the gold his way. I keep asking my mom to ask her about the silver and the older coins and rolls. My mom has a bad memory :( so hopefully she can charm her and ill be in your shoes soon :).

Did you say $8 dollars of small S 1970 S coins. Those are like $50 in MS 64ish each. If true, you just made a small fortune. Submit the best of them and sell. WOW!!
