Well I don't like Walkers. I understand why others like them but I'm not a fan of walkers. I don't like how they were struck and the design was too complex for the half dollar. I do like Eisenhower Dollars. They aren't the raw beauty of the SLQ or an Indian Headed Nickel but they are a very good coin as a composite for both Silver and Clad. I also like optimistic the attempt to show a future looking nation and the space program. Ruben
Ike's are one of the few American series I actually hoard. I think (and I know I'm not alone) that they are a real sleeper series. You got to love a big honking dollar that was made at the height of the cold war, with a big bald Kansan on one side and an American eagle landing on the moon on the other... CAWWW!! If more of them were made with silver I have no doubt they would be much more popular.
I think they are a great sleeper seriers - they will be asleep I think they are a great sleeper series - they will (and have) been asleep for a long, long time. Now folks, don't take it personal it's only coin banter!

You be right I'll be happy. You be right I'll be happy. I just don't know anyone (and I know a bunch) who would spend that kind of $$ on that kind of coin but each to his/her own - that's what I love about this hobby, there's something for everyone!

Oh yeah. The big ones were heavy and then, on top of that, were mostly shipped to Vegas for slot machines. The clads are sort of chippy and have a lot of dings in them. Trying to find Ikes in grades of MS65 and above is one of the real challenges in Nuimastics. And the type I 1972 -D I think is especially rare (or was that the type 2??) Ruben
