Well I don't like Walkers. I understand why others like them but I'm not a fan of walkers. I don't like how they were struck and the design was too complex for the half dollar. I do like Eisenhower Dollars. They aren't the raw beauty of the SLQ or an Indian Headed Nickel but they are a very good coin as a composite for both Silver and Clad. I also like optimistic the attempt to show a future looking nation and the space program.

Ike's are one of the few American series I actually hoard. I think (and I know I'm not alone) that they are a real sleeper series.

You got to love a big honking dollar that was made at the height of the cold war, with a big bald Kansan on one side and an American eagle landing on the moon on the other... CAWWW!! ;)

If more of them were made with silver I have no doubt they would be much more popular.

I think they are a great sleeper seriers - they will be asleep

I think they are a great sleeper series - they will (and have) been asleep for a long, long time. Now folks, don't take it personal it's only coin banter!

    Wheat pennys

Even thogh i bought the IKES and WHEAT PENNY ROLLS , I thought i did pretty good . As i saidI have aome antique booths, and customers are asking about coins . I try to have reasonable prices. This is a trial area in my antique booth to see how it goes.
    In the penny rolls found : 1912 1928-D 1939 D 1930 ,1947 , 3- 1954 .
Went back yesterday bougt the following :

    1893 wheat paid $ 1.00
    1895 $ 1.75
    1918 s $0.75
    1890 0 morgan $ 12.50
    1903 1909 1911 for $ 5.00 for the three
    ROLL BUFFALO NICKELS $ 15.00

Persnaly Ithought i did ok to see how it works out, I evehave my eye on some better coins for myself the coin dealer is about 70 years old ,besides buying afew coins frm her , i set there and talk for a hour or so, I mostly
listien about differnt coins key dates etc , Hving my 3rd cornea transplant wed. hopefully it works this time where i can see better and enjoy this hobby for myself, and again some reasonable coins for the booth. Ifigure times are hard now alot of people are having rough times but still would like to have something to make a moment happier for them. When my eye heals Iwill buy better coins for my personal collection/ Meanwhile Ill read this website and research as much as I can , i am not compaining about some semarks, actually i enjoy them, they make me think a little, I really think this website is great, and really aperciate your knowledge . I
apoligse for typing errors and punctiation , but it is really a challange to type , this took me 35 minutes to type. again thank you '

You be right I'll be happy.

You be right I'll be happy. I just don't know anyone (and I know a bunch) who would spend that kind of $$ on that kind of coin but each to his/her own - that's what I love about this hobby, there's something for everyone!

    Oh yeah.

The big ones were heavy and then, on top of that, were mostly shipped to Vegas for slot machines. The clads are sort of chippy and have a lot of dings in them. Trying to find Ikes in grades of MS65 and above is one of the real challenges in Nuimastics. And the type I 1972 -D I think is especially rare (or was that the type 2??)
