# 2009 Lincoln's - Has anyone heard or do you know the number of varieties there will end up being in proof and mint sets for 2009?? They way I would see it would have to be: 4-New Reverse types 2009-P Mint Set in copper coated Zinc. 4-New Reverse types 2009-D Mint Set copper coated Zinc. 4-New Reverse types 2009-S Proof in copper coated Zinc. Total 12 4-New Reverse type 2009-P Mint set in the original composition French Bronze. 4-New Reverse type 2009-D Mint set in the original composition French Bronze. 4-New Reverse types 2009-S Proof set in the original composition French Bronze. Again total 12 - 12 +12 =24 total pieces Or do I have this little feeling in the back of my head that since they said they were going to do the original composition they (the Mint) will somehow skip the 12 copper coated zinc cents in mint & proof sets ??????? And if so does that meet the legislative directive??????
The proofs might all be 95% copper, but we'll have to wait and see. Then again, I suspect a satin finish version will show up in mint sets. Either way, there will be a big variety set to collect for the cent collectors this year!
Knowing the Mint I would suspect there will be small dates, large dates, missing S proofs. Then throw in a wide AM, close AM, Cameo and non Cameo proof also. A double die, offset and you know have many, many of them. I'm only surprized the Mint hasn't yet thrown in a Silver, Gold, Platinum cent yet.
Here is how I understand it: 4 zinc P mint (satin) 4 zinc D mint (satin) 4 copper S (proof) 4 zinc P mint (business strike) 4 zinc P mint (business strike) total of 20 coins
According to the description in the subscription section of the Mint website the satin finish pieces in the mint set will be 95% copper and there will be no satin finish Zincolns.
