I like how he is saying that there may be rare coins with a specific grade in there...

    this is just funny

I really don't see anything unusual for an ebay listing here. I think the buyer overpaid for it, but it's probably a normal proof set with the usual sales pitch. I don't see the big deal with unopened proof and mint sets though. I like to enjoy my purchases!

cool. I was just wondering because it seems like these could be a decent way to get nice coins. What would be a good price for one? Less than 15? or well melt value would be. dollar for the dime. 2.50 for the quarter, 5 for the half, and then ruflly 20 cents for the nickle and penny (I have no clue complete guess) so using addition... 8.50 ish so maybe like 10 a better price and pay a slight premium. Also what do you guys use to identifiey coins that might be worth slabing? I realize it would have to be a sick coin to justifey 18 dollars

    I think $15 is a descent deal for a '61 proof set.

Seems ok to me. Those sets are a dime a dozen, really.
Many didn't get opened because dealers bought in huge bulk lots and never went through them.

Well can you say with absolute certainty that there isn't anything good in there? In theory any of those items he mentioned COULD be in there. It's extremely unlikely, especially since the sets were originally issued unsealed. The fact that this one IS sealed would make me suspect it has been searched and then sealed in order to provide an air of being UNSEARCHED.

  10. True, I just thought that the specific grade designations (Proof 69, Proof 68 Deep Cameo, etc.) were a little ridiculous lol
