A dissenting opinion Frankly, I think stopping at 50 was a real "dis" to the District of Columbia, which gets dissed plenty enough (without straying into politics, I'll just mention the old motto of "taxation without representation") So -- I voted no on the survey (not that it matters). I think it should have stopped at 51 quarters. I live in Va., and work in D.C., and have many friends and co-workers who live in D.C. D.C. deserves a quarter as much as the the 50 states do, imho.
I think the quarter program should have ended with the states. It doesn't look like we are going to have a regular quarter for a long long time. Next after the territories is The National Parks and Historic Sites program which is said to last for atleast 11yrs.
I'm glad this turned out pretty well 72% of us say they quarter program should have ended with the 50 states! THANKS, for your votes
What if there was an option to vote for: ending with 51 quarters so that DC could be included. (I raised that above, but didn't hear any public reaction)
51 quarters would have been un-even! lol I suppose they could have had just this year, for p and d of DC, but... This sounds weird THE 51 States Quarter Program
Yes -- it may sound weird. But there are close to 600K US citizens living in DC, which is more than Wyoming (and almost as much as Vermont)
Wow. If we would have done what you are saying, then, we should have either had 6 coins last year, or 1 coin this year
