I was offered 10 consecutive series 1957 silver certificates. They are all CU and start with 000. The asking price was $140.00 for the set. I said I'd think about it as paper isn't really my thing, but is it something I should have jumped on, or should still jump on as it were?
BQ...of the 3 blocks I have sen most often, *A *B and *C blocks, they all run in the area of $25 ea in CHCU condition. Nice notes if you had the entire series......If the selling $$$ was 140..then I would have jumped on it pending close inspection. RickieB
Are you referring to stars RickieB? Granted the serial numbers seem lower but I didn't see BQ mention stars. If they're just 1957 series' non stars that price seems a bit high to me. If star notes it IS a different story of course.
Dan... You must have been reading the same Paper I was...LOL Yes I was talking about Stars...sorry BQ The Series 1957 non stars are less...around the range of $12-$14 each. The $140 mark should be around $115-$120 BQ the consecutive numbers may bring a little more.... BQ, did nt mean to mis-lead you...I am actually putting in a bid on some stars and well, I looked at those prices, naturally!! Thanks Dan
no prob, so really it comes to $140 is probably about fair for the set. I'll take it under advisement, but probably won't get them in that case, I'll maybe get a national instead.
