What grade do you think this coin might be Just found earlier in the evening: 1988P RDV 006- Stage A, Die #2. Opinions welcomed and appreciated!
Thanks. I'm still trying to find out exactly how rare this cent is (Stage A- Die #2) In your opinion, is it worth getting the coin slabbed by ANACS or NGC?
Hi: This is a generalization of what to look for. Look at the designers initials on the reverse (FG)- its the initials that are on the regular 1989P and D Lincoln cents, but these ended up on a 1988P & 1988D cent. (transitional) Look at the initials on a reverse of a regular 1988P & D cent and you will see the difference right away. Hope this helped.
I would think its at least MS63 i know a few members over on Lincoln Cent Resource have had there slabbed. Im not sure if NGC will reconize this variety - i asked them a year ago with no answer, but i know that ANACS does it. Here is some members that have some of this variety if you have some questions. You notice my name up there also. http://www.lincolncentresource.net/forums/group.php?groupid=3 Snowman
