I am understanding that Body baging is bad (whatever that is) is it gets graded that way is it still worthless. If that happens should i put it in the parts tumbler at work to polish it. We use the tumbler to polish titanium knife blades.
Don't touch the coin... Don't touch it with your bear hands, and don't polish, clean, or do anything to it Body bagged, is basically a coin that is rejected, and is not graded
Tom, Perhaps you were joking but forum rules do not allow offers to buy or sell except in the Open forum.
You can ask a dealer to grade it for you, or you can send it in. Once you have a grade, you'll know what it is worth... If you sell it on ebay, right now, raw, you'll get maybe, $400 or more
T$, I never said you were an idiot or that you don't know what you are talking about. But saying that NGC is more likely to encapsulate an AT coin than PCGS is an opinion plain and simple. If you are going to use Morgan Dollars as your proof, you are in big trouble. The majority of the slabbed Morgan Dollars, even the fantastically toned ones are naturally toned. If you would like to show me and example of an NGC AT Morgan Dollar, go ahead. But know this, PCGS grades just as many AT coins as NGC. The reason for this is because even the experts often times can't tell the difference between NT and AT. There was a thread last week that discussed this matter at length. http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t28465/ Speaking of PCGS graded rainbow toned coins, what do you think of this ASE. I am not saying that it is definitely AT, but I can tell you that I would not have put it in a slab if I was the grader and I am the most liberal toned coin collector on the planet. http://cgi.ebay.com/1995-PCGS-MS64-Spectacular-Rainbow-Toned-American-Eagle_W0QQitemZ360112442215QQihZ023QQcategoryZ39488QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem BTW, both TPG's do an excellent job weeding out the AT coins IMO.
the coin above is a AT MS64 ASE, graded by PCGS very weird, most AT coins graded by PCGS, that are ASE's, are normally 67's
My point is that PCGS on occasion, just like NGC, grades and encapsulates AT coins. This can best be demonstrated by post number 9 in the thread I referenced earlier. They took a PCI ASE MS68 QT and graded it PCGS MS69. http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t28465/ Take a look!
My opinion is they are pretty much the same. Although NGC may be cheaper as I don't understand why people slab so many coins that only retail at $10. Sights are difficult to use to assist in grading a coin. Morgan coin grading This site just basically tells you but doesn't show you the difference which can make it difficult. There are some really great books out there such as photograde & Coin Values' Making the grade. But if your only interested in this one coin check with the ANA & see if they recommend a local dealer. I've found many dealers who register with the ANA are very helpful & will even grab a book to walk you through the process.
this is what ill do i will take the coin from you put ur name on the holder and ur coi will become immortal in the spock collection seriously man send this coin to NCS
