I like your old Victoria coin : ) Your old Victoria florin coin seems to be MS or very close. Does it have prooflike fields, or am I seeing reflection from a slab?. The few tiny marks are not distracting and you have good reason to be proud of this coin, and yourself. It's a great addition to any collection : ) I've been watching for one of these and of course the young Victoria florin is considered by many to be the most beautiful coin in the world. I need both and will be happy to acquire either. I also like St. George but don't have him on a British coin yet. I have a Bank of Upper Canada prooflike one penny token and several of the half penny tokens in AU, EF, and VF.
Now who's favorite coins, in their collections have changed, since this thread was started??? Mine has.. From this: To This:
WOW-WOW-WOW & Holy crap & WOW. How the heck did I miss that coin. That is absolutely gorgeous and the photos are exquisite. Where can I get me one of those?
HOBBY! That is a pretty cool error coin you got there!!! Do you know the population of something like that???
No I don’t, one person in Ohio has one as featured in Numismatic News (April 8, 2008 Vol.57, No. 15) it appears to have the same doubling, the reverse is also doubled with the same rotation. I need to get a camera. I found it in the 2007 annual dollar set. They call it “in collar double strike”
I refuse to pick a favorite because my other coins get jealous and break out in milkspots....:kewl: Love those Buffalos, but these 3 are in my Top Twenty...no certain order.
I would think, been looking for other reports, no luck. Thinking of having it slabed, but they would have to break it from the set. Anyone know of such a coin?
These aren't my absolute favorites but I like the 85 S Morgan cause I think it's undegraded (reverse is a 65+) and the 1868 is a cool coin that people forget about. Morgan is MS 63 and IHC is MS 65 RB
The scan does it absolutly no justice, but this is my favorite coin. I am planning on getting another camera soon so I will post pics when I get the camera in. Then the coin will get the respect it deserves.
