US Mint Returns Question

I ordered a 2008 Silver Proof Set and a 2008 Uncirculated Set. Both arrived damaged - one of the plastic cases for the Silver Proof Set was broken and most of the coins in the Unc Set were scratched. I returned the coins per the included instructions. I requested the coins be replaced.

Today I got an e-mail showing I have been credited for the purchase prices of the coins. Is this simply an interum step for the Mint to ship me the replacement coins and charge me for the replacement coins (which is a net zero with the credit) OR will I only get the credit and no new coins?

This is the first time I have returned anything to the Mint.

Call first before you purchase again. I am 99% sure this is the way the Mint works - no billing until they ship to you...

So because you returned product, they credit you... They will re-bill when they re-ship.

the mint should roll back to 30 day return. the mint should only impose 7 day for bullion related items.

    Taz is correct.

Being a 2008 product you could be getting a "returned set". I would hope the Mint wouldn't do this.....but I wouldn't bet on it.
