I saw that, looks dipped to me, the luster doesn't seem to be quite natural. Eh, what do I know anyway ..... lol

 

I'm not sure about that 1890 CC, IMO at first I thought it looked polished, but I wasn't too sure just a hunch. But given the last coin we saw from this seller I would never even think about buying it, not too mention I would never buy a expensive raw coin off Ebay to begin with. Just my opinion though.

 

Nah - the coin sucks. Send it back. And if GD was here he would tell you down to the finest details how many ways that coin sucks. This is not an opinion poll thing either. In the real world that coin sucks. In a make believe anything can be true.

I told you. Ebay is heavly tilted at this point toward the buyer and that is a good think. First thing to do if you have a problem is contact paypal.

Sorry for not being on the web lately. I'm trying to buy a house so I have and am consumed with that. What I remember seeing of the two pictures they looked find but pic's can be misleading, we all know that. My advice is if everyone else see's it the other way... go for it. Go with you gut. Look I have seen dipped coins before and their luster is not that of a coin made at the mint. It looks dipped! The features are not as prominent as a stamped coin. And it is done. I have two of the same coins that were dipped and I got my money back. Oddly enough though they did come from different sources. They are both the 1893 Expo Columbus Commemorative coin, so look for that one. On one coin I can see where the coin was clipped with tweezers or something in order to dip it. I took the one coin I had at the time to the Phoenix Coin show which is very large and passed it around. I even showed the rep. from the U.S. Mint and they all agreed. So anyway I have not kept up with your issue on Coin Talk. If all the boys & girls agree that it looks dipped claim it, send it back (w/ sign for) and win. F.Y.I. Paypal can be pricks but this is what their job is about... protecting the parties involved. Great Luck... Cheers
