Not a Daniel Carr piece, but he has created a lot of Jos. Lesher tribute strikes.

This one finally arrived. Only 1,000 of these sequentially numbered pieces were minted as a Lesher house restoration fund raising effort by the ANA in 1985. I was exceedingly fortunate to have secured a low number, really clean example - #139.

Here is more information on this issue, in case you ever run across one.

    Thought Dan Carr aficionado's would enjoy . . . . .

New items up on Dan's site this morning. Some interesting pieces sure to sell out quickly.

    Move it or lose it.

I like the design on that $100 Union, but... not $240 worth, I'm afraid. :(

And I'm super-nervous about the dollar denomination marked on it. I know the Norfed case hung in part on "intent to create a competing currency", but minting something denominated in dollars, not overstruck on a real coin of the same denomination, and not bearing a "COPY" or "Not legal tender" stamp -- that seems like begging for trouble, doesn't it?

Truth be told, I have a growing affinity for Dan Carr's designs bearing "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" identifiers on them in lieu of the UNA / USNA identifiers. I like the "Dollars" over the "Ameros" as well.

I know his fantasy coins are all marked as such, I just like his original designs with these "mottos" a little more.

Maybe I am an outlier or renegade. I have a couple en-route to me. Sellers photos didn't do them justice, so I'll wait to take pichers of my own . . . .

Well, i finally bought something that I really have no idea why I bought it . . . other than it being a quintessential "exonumia" piece, and I had to have it.

It's not in my hands yet, but I do have the sellers photos.

    Yeah, it's a Daniel Carr piece . . . .

Only Dan Carr aficionados will "get it" I fear . . . .
