1953 no mint mark penny. awkward collar is it a error???

Here is a 1953 no mint mark penny an it looks to be like a copper with like a silver coating on it. It's also really shiny, an the L on liberty is spaced way out on the edge. So it looks like it say iberty lol.. I also added photos of another 1953 penny to show so you can see the difference.. just trying to figure out if it's an error coin or what it is. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

That did not happen at the mint. And when there is no mint mark on your penny, then it was minted in Philadelphia.

Usually, we won't need a photograph of a normal coin. Just post full front (obverse) and back (reverse) of the coin you have questions about.

Your coin was plated after it left the mint. This was a common HS Chemistry experiment years ago. Sorry but it's not an error. If you like it, here's one way to make them yourself

The reason for this is due to a worn die, note the upward curve of the field at the rim, this should be a 90° angle and not a slope.

 

It's a plated cent minted in Philadelphia. It's worth one cent. Welcome to CT.

 

Yep, the lettering gets pushed outward over time as the die wears.
Not always, I've seen some weird weird die wear before.
