Yes, I did. My wife wanted a remodel of the kitchen, so I sold a number of my common date highly reflective Morgans. They were all PL or DMPLs, and high eye appeal coins. Hated to see them go, but she will be happy with the new kitchen. Now, I can start collecting again, with a clear conscience, as she has her monster refrigerator, Viking stove, custom cabinets, etc. Oh well, more coins to collect in the near future.
Yer.. well done buddy! Gotta keep the missus happy. I should sell more of my Morgans. It would keep my lady sweet too.
PS Glad you and the wife are happy and agreed to this. That's what's a marriage is all about-doing things together for the family's best interest.
That’s awesome. I spend more time in the kitchen than I do looking at Morgan’s. I would have done the same. Enjoy the new space!
How about you try that on your own wife and get back to us with the results, hmm? I'd never ask my wife to make a sandwich. She never gets the cheese slices lined up exactly right...
If he's putting in a Viking stove, it's going to be WAY more than $25K. Entry level start around $5K. The fancy color enamel ones run close to $25K. And for all that money, they don't come with an oven timer. Found that out the first time I went to bake something in my new oven.
We all — or our heirs — probably will have to unload our collections at some point. Glad to see yours went to a worthy project that you and she can both enjoy.
