I have a 1899 O-Morgan Silver Dollar can you grade it (as best as you can) and can you tell me how much it is worth if anything, i'm getting a 2X2 for it tomorrow
Dear Wren, Welcome to the board and on the new adventure. Your coin is worth probably melt price. It's always good to read as much you can and the books are available in libraries. If you are new to this hobby, you will love it down the road and will trade it for nothing, so keep writing and get valueable replies from many friends you have on this board. Glassman.
It looks to be either a F12 to F15 (Fine condition). It retails for about $26 in F12. If you were to sell it you may only get $18 - $20 for it. But that's more than melting price. What ever you do don't decide to clean it or dip it in jewelery cleaner.
i'm not cleaning it, i have a whole other thread on something i did with some Bicentennials, i put it in a cardboard 2X2 yesterday good, sadly this is one of my better coins other than my 1923 Peace Dollars
