    This penny says in Ood instead of God and it does not have initials is this a good error coin or another novelity

    What looks like spelling errors on coins are decades of wear from circulation. Or strikes from grease-filled dies.

    Its commonly called zinc rot and is not an error. The thin copper plating was breached and the zinc core is corroding. The corrosion is pushing up the copper plating, similar to rust under the paint of a car fender.
