Well, we had several dozen Top 10 lists, so how about a bottom list? We all make bad purchases for one reason or another; quality might not be what we expected or sometimes it's one of those "drunk purchase" type of situations. I got this sestertius of Lucius Verus and I don't like it at all. It is covered in some sort of varnish/lacquer of some sort. Even if it wasn't, the condition is mediocre, and the entire coin is the literal definition of "meh" What is your least favorite coin of 2020?
I got this drachm from Chalkis mainly for the eagle since the nymph is of bad style. The coin looks totally unimpressive in hand, the photo presents an alternate reality it's not a bad coin, perhaps I had big expectations but it was a disappointment and so this was my worst of 2020
The worst coin in 2020 was a coin that I really wanted, but was too cheap to buy. Now I really, really want it.
Ahhh worst... My "worst" coin of 2020.... Beautiful unmarked copy of 1883 Hawaiian dollar... "Copy" being the bad part....
I'm sorry you got taken on that one. But I was pretty proud of myself for being able to ID it as a fake Were you able to get a refund for it?
yeah we ended up putting a lil groove in the edge to make sure it was solid not to mention the weight was right
That's cool. I'm surprised they went to the effort of making a proper weight silver round for the fake. Usually they are some type of god-awful white metal garbage.
Pictured below is the worst coin I bought this year for $2.95 + shipping on eBay. It's a 1959 Lincoln Penny, Gem BU MS65 Red, with a mintage of only 609,000,000 pcs. JUST KIDDING ! Actually I found an unopened roll of these pennies in the bottom drawer of my desk this year . I'm not sure what to do with them ? I think they're too good to just put into circulation .
