One of these is being sold on the bay and I was shocked to see the price tag on it especially since I'm familiar with them! Two or three years ago, these could be bought for $15-$25 at most California coin shows, if you could find them. I heard these were made by a jeweler in Mexico, whoever it was he certainly left a legendary coin behind, his name is mentioned in the ad below! Lastly, I had mine tested as I have a couple of small gold Tokens and mine's is definitely 22k gold! Anyone ever see one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/SOLID-22K-...441783?hash=item2d22724277:g:AucAAOSwSpBgAjtt

That's strange, somehow there's two of these threads, sorry about that, wasn't my intent at all! https://www.ebay.com/itm/SOLID-22K-...441783?hash=item2d22724277:g:AucAAOSwSpBgAjtt View attachment 1235797 View attachment 1235798 View attachment 1235799 View attachment 1235800
Nice but with a 25-30 dollar melt value, that premium is outragious! add to that you can still buy a 15-17th century gold fanam (also about .4gr) for 30-50 bucks and those are real coins (just be careful with fanams should be 20-22k but a lot of "fakes" made for jewelry were only 14-18k gold...
What @mrweaseluv said. Those are pretty, but the premium on 'em in the eBay listing(s) seems excessive. And a gold fanam is at least a coin rather than a token. But as small gold tokens go, those are pretty handsome. You posted two duplicate threads. I have merged them together into one.
Privately made novelty piece. We used to buy them and scrap them along with other similar novelty pieces.
Worst part is you got me looking at those darn Palau minted coins.. I've fallen in love with the .5gr skull coin, but even that's not as bad as the premium on those calendar tokens (which I also like) looking at $107 for the skull coin, but that's also PCGS graded MS70... but damn it Skulls are my other big collection hehehe.. we'll see what happens come the 1st... Jan a rough month for me Ins renewal, car and license registration as well as the new dog reg and rabies shot... January sucks for me every year lol... PS I've seen a few as low as 80 but they lower grades so I be paying extra for the plastic/and grade... not so much on "premium" lol (man is the rationalizing animal ) https://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-Palau...rentrq:0ca13f261770aada5948ded7ffdf827a|iid:1
