Computer program for Coins ?

Hey everyone . Does anyone know of a Great Program I could use to Catalog my meager Coin collection . I have it written down but want a more formal list , before I ride off into the Coin Heavens so to speak . Thanks you guys have been great the past months , truly Classy bunch ! PEACE

I made my own in Excel, but have Exact Change as a backup. Exact Change provides prices and you can print off reports any which way you want.

 

I use to use CoinManage for a few years. Updates started sucking and I converted all my records to excel. I like it a lot better.
I can divide the spreadsheets for each variety or collection type. Here's a screen shot of part of one of my spreadsheets.

 

I suppose I too will get a program in the future. At the moment, speeding like a tortoise , I'm continually sorting.
Curiosity got to me, so I hit up Google for cataloging info.

I'm a big fan of Coin Elite. Started using it before it was even a Windows program. I'm on a seven year old version but they have updates to the features all the time.
The thing that helped me the most is the report designer. Anything is possible.

 

I use Coin Manage, a very user friendly program. I also have excel spreadsheets.

 

Options for Mac users like myself are limited, so I created a catalog template in Word. I can't sort by different categories, but other than that it does everything I would want a coin program to do.

 

Mintstate.com has a very easy to use coin collection feature.
Easy to load your coin info/details, notes, and images and you can export it as a PDF or EXCEL.

They are working on even more features, but it's simple and powerful and you won't be tied to an app. Eventually you'll be able to upload spreadsheets to add to your collection as well...but since you can download the spreadsheets you'll be able to then upload those into some other app or program at some point if you so decide...or print them out and lock them up with your will

You can also upload your images via the coin identifier as well...it does a great job with the coins it recognizes but they are working on that as well! You can of course upload any photos you want into your own collection though.... and thanks for the AWESOME desktop wallpaper!!! Lol, awesome!

Its a website where you can catalogue your coin collection. I like it because there is also a forum (not as active as CT) and other members that you can swap with. I personally don't use Numista to catalogue my collection but I use it to trade with other members to fill my US coin albums. A lot of people on there collect world coins, just throw some on your swap list and people will want to trade for them. I noticed there aren't many people from the US on there so when you trade internationally, it gets pretty expensive. Other than that though, its an amazing source for pretty much every coin you can think of.

 

I sat down to my computer, clicked on Excel and made my own.

 

MY Computer is like 10 years old . My internet is lightning speed though .It's driving a Beat up old junk Chevy with a brand new Engine .

 

I will never list my collection on any web site. That's just stupid.

I was lucky. Having CoinManage I was actually able to export my files to excel. I had to do a bit of modification to the sheets to fit my preference but it at least sent most of my info over.

 

Microsoft Excel.

If you have a lot of time and little experience MS Access works very well.

Excel is just a whole lot easier.

 

I just made a basic template in Excel and create new files customized for any new series I'm collecting. I didn't see any need for the added complexity of a relational database program. With Excel I can carry my whole collection data with me to coin shows on my phone without uploading anything to the cloud.
