Somebody just tell me that this is a large date. I really think that it is, but then I see signs that maybe it's not... I only have two 1970 S's in my possession, and when I put them side by side.. I see differences. I checked both coppercoins.com and lincolncentresource.com. And I'm still not totally convinced.

Oh.. I don't know.. just see the pics. :)

IMHO I say it is a large date. The 7 is equal in vertical size to the 0.

yes, it's a large date and sorry to correct you, fish, but the 7 and 0 are NOT level, the level 7 variety is a small date

Yes you have the large date, and no you are not the only one who has difficulty telling them apart. They are incorrectly labeled large and small date. There should be a "level 7" and "low seven" varieties. This might eliminate some confusion. It is not easy to come across the level 7 variety in circulation, believe me!

Thanks Mike. I didn't realize there was a level 7 and a low 7. Always learning hear. I see it now.

Yours is a Large Date. Imagine drawing a horizontal line across the top of the 9 and 0. If the 7 is beneath, it's a Large Date. If the 7 meets the top of that imaginary line, it's a Small Date.

    Best Regards,

    George
