If you ever see a KGV HK coin with that particular bust, that would be one to keep!

I know of an Australia halfpenny from 1916, which is a mule of the India 1/4 Anna and the Australia reverse. Australia had their halfpennies coined in Calcutta that year, which made the mule possible. A very rare and valuable coin. :D

Nice! Thanks for pointing that out!

I don't often collect Austrailian coins, but I do grab the older colonial coins when I see them going for cheap. I'll have to keep a closer eye out!

We can only hope, LOL. The VF coin below would probably fetch today upwards of AUD $200K.

After reading this particular thread I saw a 1930's New Zealand shilling with a "George V King & Emperor" legend for sale (no elephant).

I got really excited until I discovered they were ALL like that... lol.

People add mint marks to coins all the time... I wonder how difficult it would be to add an elephant? ;)

the 200k coin he was talking about you can get it for 10 bucks with a little bit of luck if you know what you are doing. how can i say that? i have got 3 and 4 figure coins for single figures. some of those purchases have been so amazing that experts in the field took a long time to digest it.

So never give up and always stay excited. its not a cherry pick till its a rarity ;)

Nice. :thumb: I've found a few like that. It may be possible that one is sitting in a dealer album somewhere because those varieties are generally unknown in the US. The discovery coin (of 10 known to date) was found in 1965, so I bet a few more were tucked away before then. It's a longshot, but I still check every one I find.

I just stumbled onto your post depicting the brokage error coin. That is a very good coin & I hope you are taking good care of it. Don't touch it or clean it & keep it in a safe holder.

If you are really trying to sell it then please take time to maximize your profits. You might post it in a new thread in this section or the error coin section of Cointalk for advice from other people. Never post your location in an open forum. If we knew your general geographic area I could possibly refer you to some local dealers or coin shows where you could further promote selling the coin.

    Welcome to CoinTalk :welcome:

The Indian word you're struggling with is LAKH, common to India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, etc., and meaning 100,000.

A lakh of rupees is 100,000 rupees.
