Found these last week. I am still not too great on figuring out their value, if any at all. I tell ya what, I love finding star notes but in all honesty I will probably just recirculate them if they aren't worth anything. I have to use my lunch money to keep them and I am not a little guy. :mouth: Anyway, thanks for looking, any info is appreciated.
Why do Americans keep the dollar bill? I have no clue; they all look like they have been stored in some prostitutes shoe for the past decade… “and probably have” But that’s a nice little find. As for what they are worth I have no Idea but I would still hold onto them, even if I get a tad hungry… here’s a idea to refrain from using them to buy lunch… eat some paper it’s high in fiber and fat free.
Who knows? Weird people. One of the reasons I stopped using cash in the US is because after one day, your 1$ bills are bursting out of your pockets. A bill for something that can buy so little is a bit odd for me as an european, but to each his own. The funny thing is though, some people I know would argue that the reason why they use dollar bills is that the 1 dollar coins are around, but no one uses them. Well, duh, if you're expecting the change in costumes to spring out from within the people, you will wait forever. It's like trying to introduce the euro without ever letting go of the old currency...
Yeah they introduced it weirdly ... in Canada they stoped printing the dollar bill and introduced the loonie so people were forced to use it ,they did the same in 1996 with the two dollar bill and the twonie... They are rumors of the 5$ coin here in Canada , I hope this will not hapen for the sake of heavy pokets and risky boat rides..
There is a thin line between a pocket full of bills and a pocket full of coins. I believe a $5 coin would definitely cross the line.
When they eliminate pennies because of higher prices due to inflation (long term.) and the fact that by then they will probably be worth more as scraps ones again then the monetary face value itself. and 5$ will buy a bag of chips .... then a coin will not be crossing the line
The first issue of 5$ explorer bills were horrible... after a few moths they looked like they had been in circulation for years. at that time they almost introduced the 5$ coin which was initially going to have a moose on them. they simply ended up scraping the new 5$ note and reintroducing the same note but a higher quality with added security features... That was a close call for the 5$ bill .... I'm sure we will have the 5$ bill in the future as they are getting damaged once again... we print our currency on toilet paper that's probably why...
