I have this 2005 Minnesota Quarter with a what I believe to be a big die crack and a cud at the top of one of the tree's. I really don't know if I should try to sell this or not. Would it be worth something?

I don't think cud happens on the inside of a coin... Only on the rim

+1... See how the edges of the so called "die crack" fold outwards?.... I'm afraid all you have is a damaged quarter

What would that chunk be called? I didn't realize Cuds were only on the rim. Not new to collecting but new to looking for errors.

Pictures of the whole coin front and back it might have an extra tree by those pictures I would guess die chips or just damage.

It's a scratch not a die crack. A die crack would be completely raised. NNor a Cud as a cud must touch the rim.

@Charles tresner ...Welcome to Coin Talk. Next time, start your own post/thread, and try to post pics of only the coin(s) you have a question about, cropping out any borders.

Normally, 3 pics are sufficient to explain your question:
1 full size of the obverse, 1 full size of the reverse. and a close-up of the area on the coin you have a question or info about. Make sure the pics are in-focus. These 3 pics allow members to see the die pair and assess the coin. Sometimes a 4th pic of the edge of the coin is required, and sometimes a shot in a mirror allows both sides to be seen for orientation purposes. You may need to get a better camera.

Yes, the quarter is a cud and the dime, from what I can see from your pic, is just damaged. I don’t know the value of the cud, but I think only 2 or 3 dollars at most.

Again, welcome to CT...I look forward to your future posts.

Their can be internal CUDS, but usually they are on older coins where die sinking between die cracks fill in.

But this looks like a deep scratch to me. The material from the center has spread toward the edges. The longer scratch is in line with the "CUD."
